MTV: The rumormill has been churning for months, speculating on just who will be joining the highly anticipated two-part finale of “The Twilight Saga” (remember those Lee Pace whisperings?). Well today, courtesy of ET Online, we have confirmation of one new “Breaking Dawn” face: “The Pacific” star Rami Malek. Rami will be playing vampire Benjamin, and, unsurprisingly, he’s super-psyched to be joining the franchise. “I think it’s going to be great,” he told ET. “It’s going to be super-exciting, and I’m thrilled…”
Rami looks to be a great fit for this role. Though he’s nearly 30 (29, to be exact), he oozes a boyish presence, and he certainly has the olive complexion and dark hair necessary to pull off the role physically. Plus, did we mention he has experience playing an ancient Egyptian in the “Night at the Museum” flicks?
US: “By no means do I want to be a piece of meat for the rest of my career. It’s funny when you get asked to do a talk show, and then they follow it up with requesting you take your shirt off.”
The star called Us from New Orleans on the fifth anniversary of Hurricane Katrina; working with charity the St. Bernard Project, Lutz helped build five houses in seven days for the still-recovering city.
“We were working around the clock at 50 hours at a time in different shifts,” Lutz marveled. “We got it done just in time. We had so many people come out and lend a helping hand. It was so touching. ”
Lutz’s girlfriend AnnaLynne McCord first introduced him to the St. Bernard Project. “She really educated me on the need down there,” Lutz told Us. “You don’t really grasp what is going on unless you are down there experiencing it.” (He also recently shot a romantic comedy, Love Wedding Marriage, with Mandy Moore, in the area.)
He’ll be back in Louisiana when Breaking Dawn begins filming in Baton Rouge. “I’m hoping to truck down and work with the St. Bernard Project [there] as well. Hopefully I’ll be bring some other cast members too.”
Cast members like…Robert Pattinson? “It would be a great surprise for everyone,” Lutz said, laughing. “Although I would have to take video of Rob trying to hammer a nail, he might hurt himself.”
Reelz Channel: The first new cast member has been announced for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn. Rami Malek, a 29-year-old actor of Egyptian descent, will be playing vampire Benjamin in Breaking Dawn Part 2. If he looks familiar, you may have seen him (in headdress and mummy wrap) as Ahkmenrah in both Night at the Museum movies.
Benjamin — who’s part of the Egyptian coven with Tia, Amun, and Kebi — can control the natural elements (fire, water, earth, and air), a unique ability among vampires. He only appears at the end of the book, with the rest of the vampire covens, and doesn’t have a huge part in how the story plays out. That said, it’s possible screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg will create bigger parts for select characters, definitely an option that could play well for fan favorites.
Perez Hilton: We like!
Rami Malek has a role in the upcoming Breaking Dawn, Part 2 and he’s pretty happy to have snagged such a prime spot in the cast!
“I think it’s going to be great,” says Rami. “it’s going to be super exciting and I’m thrilled.”
The Sun: ROBERT PATTINSON is giving his beard a real opportunity to shine.
The Twilight star has been growing the facial fluff for a while now and has long passed the designer stubble stage.
I would say he’s reached the RE teacher phase of growth.
Hot Hits: One of Ashley’s closet pals recently spoke to HEAT magazine about her new romance with Joe, “She really likes him. Like, a lot. But she knows she can’t give in too easily or he’ll move on. She’s been pretty aloof and it’s driving Joe crazy.”
Her playing hard to get tactics seem to be working too, Ashley’s friend also said, “Joe is waiting on her every word, he’ll say something like, ‘About time!’ when she does answer, and he’s got this joking tone, but we all know he was waiting for her with baited breath. It’s pretty cute.”
NaaNoo: The teen star also confesses acting is the only career for her, although she would like to continue with her education alongside film commitments.
She said: “I do want to go to college, I want to be able to act and go to college at the same time. But it is absolutely what I want to do with the rest of my life. I can’t imagine doing anything else. It’s what I love.
Discussing her dream collaborations, Dakota claims Jodie Foster is a big inspiration for her due to her career longevity.
She told website NY1: “I’ve always wanted to work with Jodie Foster, I really admire because just because she’s started young and she’s continued and it’s just something I want to do. I want to constantly challenge myself. I hope by the end of my life I’ve been able to do all genres.
Manila Times: Vampires used to be described as monsters that suck not only the blood of humans but also the life out of them. But the vicious idea that was planted in people’s mind toward these creatures has changed a few years ago when a fan-fiction writer created vampire characters which people across the globe fell in love with. It was in 2006 when the first book of the Twilight Saga, written by Stephanie Myer has seen the light of day. With the likes of Edward Cullen, the too-gentleman-to-be-a-vampire character of the story, readers of all ages were hypnotized and just can’t get enough of the vampire stories. It was then that the preceding books became a certified blockbuster hits, which as of this year, has sold more than 80 million copies worldwide.
In 2008, the Twilight Saga become a certified hit motion picture. Beyond the flack that it earned from the movie critics, the amount of money that it earned from the Twihards all over the world contradicts it all.
And with the popularity that it earned in just few years time, the pop culture was conquered by these vicious creatures. The vampires become the new trendsetter. And readers had stepped into the twilight zone.
Washington City Paper: A self-admitted fan of Twilight, Anne Rice, and The Lost Boys. Ferrer doesn’t look the part of a vampire author.
Stylelist: the actress has been in New Orleans filming “Love, Wedding, Marriage” with actor/Calvin Klein underwear model Kellan Lutz and Mandy Moore (whose infamous ex, Wilmer Valderrama, also made a late appearance at the party).
“Mandy Moore is the most sweet, down-to-earth, lovely person. Kellan and I have been friends for a while and it’s crazy to film a movie with him, with how big ‘Twilight’ is,” she said. “I thought working on ‘Gossip Girl’ and seeing how people go crazy about all the characters was a lot. But working with him — oh my God, it was insane!”
The Australian: THE final Twilight films have been dated for Australian release. Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1 will be in cinemas on November 17 – next year – and part two won’t be released here until November 15, 2012.
The Improper: “Robert Pattinson Should Heed Cancer Victim Michael Douglas”
“Twilight” star Robert Pattinson’s good looks and charm is offset by his nasty habit of chain smoking cigarettes. Although he’s young and healthy he should take a warning from actor Michael Douglas before it’s too late.
Since he rocketed to stardom in the Twilight series, Pattinson at times appears to be almost a chain smoker. While there have been reports that he is eating healthier, cigarettes will ultimately doom him.
His girlfriend Kristen Stewart also smokes heavily.
At his age, 24, people tend to brush off health concerns over cigarette smoking because they body is able to better resist the damage. But rest assured the damage is being done.
Most teens and twenty-somethings also can’t see beyond their youth and don’t even think about their old age or see smoking as a fatalistic, or rebellious act.
But actor Michael Douglas is a prime example of what can happen.
His father, legendary actor Kirk Douglas is 93, and outside of a stroke in his later years, has lived a long robust life.
With longevity genes like that, Michael, 65, probably thought, he too, could look forward to a similar life span.
But he has been diagnosed with stage IV throat cancer. He blames it on smoking cigarettes and drinking alcohol…
Rob acknowledged in a new interview that he is eating much better, despite his hectic lifestyle, by having healthy meals delivered.
He has found a perfect mate in Kristen, who likes to cook, bake pies and watch the “Food Network.”
Part of Rob’s problem is his heavy travel schedule. That often includes periods of downtime when he smokes to pass the time.
“My home consists of three suitcases which I live out of,” he says. “Everything is in there.”
Cancer is a killer no matter how healthy you are. If you smoke nothing else matters, whether it’s eating better or exercising.

Baton Rouge businesses are looking forward to the economic boom that the filming of Breaking Dawn is likely to bring from those directly involved with the film to visitors hoping to catch a glimpse of their favorite actor.
According to the local ABC affiliate:
“For confidentiality reasons, we can’t talk specifics about productions that we’re dealing with,” said Patrick Mulhearn, Director of Studio Operations at Celtic Studios.
“Well, there’s not too much I can say about the details of ‘Twilight,’” said Chris Stelly, Director of Film Industry Development with the Louisiana Economic Development.
While the movie’s publicist will only say the “when” for production kickoff is late this fall, a commercial real estate agent says one of his lease properties is where pre-production is in full swing.”
Both Melissa Rosenberg and Bill Condon(seen above) have been spotted in town from time to time. It’s been widely publicized that actual filming will take place in November and principal photography might be slightly ahead of that schedule. The actual filming is likely to be mostly indoors on a soundstage making getting a look at actual filming unlikely.
Similar secrecy surrounded Eclipse with only some outdoor scenes involving Xavier Samuel and Bryce Dallas Howard being spotted by fans waiting on sidelines.

A specific date of release for The Twilight Saga: Eclipse on DVD has yet to be set (and this is not surprising considering the film is still in theaters in a lot of areas of the U.S.), but chances are, the film will hit DVD and Blu-Ray sometime this fall/winter, and there is a lot to look forward to from that occasion! 1. DVD release parties: When Twilight and The Twilight Saga: New Moon were released to DVD/Blu-Ray, Borders, Blockbuster, Walmart, and others threw midnight DVD release parties across the country, and several of the parties included guest appearances by the cast and...

You've seen Twilight parodies, and even Twilight music parodies before (from The Hillywood Show, for instance), but the performers from Chicago's Gorilla Tango Theater have put together something a little new - a Twilight and Glee musical parody show called True Twilight: A Glee Club Musical. According to the A.V. Club of Chicago, "The plot's wacky, so hang in there: Suckie Stickhouse moves to Wiccan Park and finds herself torn asunder by two swarthy but boring dudes, Ted Mullen and Shirts On The Ground. While she hems and haws over the impossible choice, she bides her time...

Twilight star Jackson Rathbone and one of the stars of the new series No Ordinary Family, Romany Malco, teamed up in a new video from the set of the show to discuss his forthcoming appearance. In the video, the two reveal that Rathbone's appearance on the show will be in episode 6 and that "there is a chance" that his role in the series may very well be recurring, "but we'll have to wait and find out." Rathbone is no stranger to television, having had a recurring role in Beautiful People and The War At Home (with none other than The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn -...

The fact that production for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1 and The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2 is taking place partially in Baton Rouge, Louisiana is making big waves in the community. A local news source did some poking around to find out details about production plans for the films, and they learned that the scenes being shot in Louisiana will indeed be indoors and that it is being considered very beneficial to the local economy. "What you'll see is much like what 'Steel Magnolias' did for Natchitoches . . . People go to Natchitoches to this day to...

Any time a new Twitter page for a castmember from the Twilight series pops up, there's a whole process hat goes into making sure it's real. Usually, this involves contacting representation for the castmember or the franchise, and this can take a bit of time. Anna Kendrick ("Jessica Stanley" in the Twilight Saga) approached her entry into Twitter-dom a bit differently than most: for the photo box on her Twitter page, she posted a photo of herself holding a piece of paper with her Twitter account on it. In a new interview with Kendrick, she revealed the mindset behind her...

For a while now, a lot of Twilight fans have been curious about whether some of the human character actors would return to The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1 or The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2 because their involvement in the storyline becomes rather thin in the story of Breaking Dawn. "Bella" has graduated high school, and she is ready to move on to a new chapter in her life (or perhaps undeath is a more appropriate word); the human characters, "Jessica," "Mike," "Angela," and "Eric" are attendants of the [*spoiler warning*...

This is just sheer GENIUS! If we were in the Chicago area we’d be calling for tickets right now. You absolutely have to visit this website and see the video of “Don’t Stop Bleeding”
The description from the Chicago AV Club is great, but the video does it more justice.
“The kids over at Gorilla Tango Theatre have really got their finger on the pulse with True Twilight: A Glee Club Musical, premièring Sept. 1. Combining all the best camp from True Blood, Twilight, Glee, and High School Musical, this play should hit the spot for any fangbanger, Gleek, or respectable adult woman who thinks Robert Pattinson is the cat’s pajamas.
The plot’s wacky, so hang in there: Suckie Stickhouse moves to Wiccan Park and finds herself torn asunder by two swarthy but boring dudes, Ted Mullen and Shirts On The Ground. While she hems and haws over the impossible choice, she bides her time by trying out for the local musical, where she draws the ire of Rachel Sharpay, town priss. Hijinks ensue, songs are sung, and somehow Bill Nye The Science Guy helps solve everyone’s problems.”
There’s a really limited run on this show. Tickets are pretty resonable for live theater.

The Twilight Saga: Eclipse and Taylor Lautner ("Jacob Black") have scored a few wins in NextMovie.com's 2010 Summer Movie Awards. NextMovie.com is a fairly new site associated with MTV. The Twilight Saga: Eclipse won the site's "Best Tent Scene" award, beating out Sex And The City 2. The "tent scene," of course, was one of the most anticipated moments in Eclipse. Taylor Lautner was awarded the "Best Use of Abs" award (no joke) over Jake Gyllenhaal in Prince Of Persia. True enough, the two categories seem tailor-made (ha) for Twilight, but...

Melissa Rosenberg made some recent comments to People Magazine regarding the birth scene in Breaking Dawn and working on rewrites of the script with Bill Condon.
“I don’t think it’s about the amount of blood you show,” she says. “It’s on their faces. It’s all from Bella’s point of view when you’re seeing what’s going [on]. It should feel visceral. I think it’s going to be pretty intense.”

A couple of weeks ago, a rumor popped up online that Lee Pace was in contention for a role as "Garrett" in The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, but within a day, that rumor was shot down by Gossip Cop. You can read more on that here if you like, but the point of bringing it up now is that another, very similar issue has just popped up with regard to "Renesmee." The Scream Awards by Spike TV have just announced their 2010 nominations. Last year Twilight took away 4 awards including Breakout Male-Taylor Lautner, Best Fantasy Actress-Kristen Stewart, Best Fantasy Actor-Robert Pattinson, and Best Fantasy Fantasy Movie-Twilight. Taylor Lautner picked up all the awards in person last year because other cast members were filming. Hopefully more will be able to make an appearance this year.
Here’s the rundown of what Twilight Saga Eclipse is up for this year. Technically New Moon also should have been eligible, but they seem to be focusing on Eclipse.

Clevver TV has a feature on the PETA Awards where Kellan Lutz, Christian Serratos and others will be honored from everything from promoting responsible pet ownership to anti-fur causes.
In the past, the Twilight movie won a PETA award for “The Most Animal Friendly Movie” due to Bella eating a veggie burger. (Slightly ironic since the opening shots of the movie feature a deer being hunted and killed.) Ashley Greene has also won an award based on her promoting Avon’s Mark Cosmetics line which are animal-cruelty free products.

Last week we saw several references to Taylor Lautner and his management team suing a California RV company because they failed to deliver a decked out RV on time to the Pennsylvania location where Taylor would be filming Abduction. The info came out across the AP wire service and other places.
We didn’t bother covering it because it didn’t seem that newsworthy, it wasn’t like it was a contract dispute over a Twilight salary or anything. It seemed like a pretty cut and dry “failure to provide services” contract dispute filled with lots of legalese and of course the inevitable “emotional distress” clause that generally accompanies any suit of this nature. Now because it was a slow news week, lots of outlets made a big deal out of the “emotional distress” clause and what was Taylor mental state, was he a diva, etc.
What started to bother us was how did this get on the AP wire to begin with? Actors get into lawsuits like this all the time, and they never make the news or it’s a footnote at best. It’s not like Taylor walked off with expensive clothes or jewelry. It was about an RV that was ordered and didn’t show up. The only time a dispute like this really hits is if someone tips off the media. It didn’t seem like Taylor’s camp would do that because it’s not really their style. It was an RV not the non delivery of a promised role or major endorsement. No one was physically hurt. What would they have to gain by bringing attention to a dispute over the non-delivery of an RV?
Cue round two, the owner of the RV company decides that he and Taylor should have a push up contest to settle the dispute and puts out press to that effect. This just didn’t sit right with us. I mean if I were the owner of the RV company and I thought I actually delivered to specs the item (possibly late), I might have in good faith knocked some money off and tried to settle this whole thing out of the limelight, but a push-up contest? It just wasn’t adding up. If I felt Taylor Lautner had wronged me and my reputation, I’d be singing the “diva, spoiled actor” routine until the cows came home. I’d be touring film crews through the decked out RV saying “this is what the diva turned down.” But a push up contest?
Well it looks like the team at The Hollywood Reporter legal division was thinking that this whole thing was pretty fishy too, and they did some digging. Here’s what they discovered when they went to Taylor Lautner’s legal team
“We have tried to take the high road by not commenting on this matter but we want to set the record straight. McMahon’s RV’s response to our client’s legitimate claim further demonstrates the lack of professionalism that Mr. McMahon, his company and his employees have exhibited from the outset, and that compelled the filing of this lawsuit in the first place. This suit is not about a “customized” RV, it is about McMahon’s RV’s refusal to deliver the vehicle in the safe, drivable condition that was promised, as every purchaser has the right to expect. A cursory review of McMahon’s RV’s record with the Better Business Bureau shows that this is a repeated pattern of conduct; Mr. Lautner just happens to be a high profile customer that is holding them accountable. Indeed, Mr. McMahon, through his attorney, has already apologized to the Lautners for his and his company’s conduct. While we will not dignify Mr. McMahon’s facetious suggestion of a contest to settle a legal claim with a response, we do welcome the opportunity for him to resolve this matter by making a $40,000 donation to the charity of Mr. Lautner’s choice, and we will be in touch with his counsel to see if he will make good on this offer.”
The Hollywood Reporter also has an excellent blow-by-blow description of this whole thing from the get-go, if you want the nitty gritty details.
So, what do you think about this whole mess?

A couple of day ago, TMZ broke the story that Taylor Lautner was suing a store called McMahon's RV for not having his pricey, customized trailer delivered on time. The suit was reportedly filed under the theory of breach of contract which led to emotional distress. Seems simple enough, right? Well, yesterday, the Associated Press announced that the owner of the store in question "offered to compete in a push-up contest to settle" the case.
